The Windsor & West Windsor Historical Societies welcome Lafayette to Vermont!
Morning Procession – 7:30 AM
Commencing at 7:30 AM, a carriage carrying Lafayette will make its journey across the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge making its way to Main Street.
Attendees are encouraged to gather along designated viewing areas to witness this symbolic crossing, welcoming General Lafayette to Windsor!
Wreath-Laying Ceremony – 8:00 AM
Immediately following the procession, a wreath-laying ceremony will be conducted by the Daughters of the American Revolution at Old South Church cemetery.
The ceremony will conclude with brief historical remarks commemorating the Bicentennial.
Community Breakfast – 8:15 AM
The morning’s events will culminate in a community gathering with breakfast at the Windsor Elks Club at 156 Main Street beginning at 8:15 AM.
