Lafayette arrives by boat to a thirteen gun salute by the Beaufort Volunteer Artillery and mounted officers from the St. Luke’s Guard.  Carriages carry Lafayette and his entourage through a Triumphal Arch for a welcome and address by the Mayor of Beaufort.

Various events related to Lafayette’s visit will be going on in Beaufort during the day.

There will be a stop at the Verdier House, called the Lafayette House, for the unveiling of a commemorative marker honoring the Marquis’ visit.

Ball and Dancing at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.

Lafayette departs Beaufort for Savannah after the festivities.
