Exclusive Wine Tasting in Octagon Barrel Room at Barboursville Winery
Saturday, November 16
4:00pm - 6:00pm
Barboursville Winery
After our day at Montpelier and then exploring the Barboursville Ruins with General Lafayette and Gov Barbour, we will gather in the Octagon Barrel room at Barboursville Winery for a private tasting with the Estate Manager and Vintner, Luca Paschina. He will guide us through a six varietal tasting of their premium wines. This will be a chance to relax, nibble on some local cheese and homemade bread, examine their display about Gov Barbour and his home, and drink world renown wine. While this event is not a historical event, wine and history go hand in hand in Virginia. Thomas Jefferson long tried to grow grapes worthy of wine making and his legacy was one of the reasons the Italian Zonin family chose to purchase this farm and start a winery here in Virginia instead of Napa Valley in California.
